This Privacy Policy explains how Scorpion IQ ("Scorpion IQ," "we," "us," or "our"), a security operations software company based in Arizona, USA, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. It applies to our website, marketing communications, and the Scorpion IQ platform (including our web portals, mobile apps and guard kiosks), and to customers nationwide.

Demo, contact and chat forms: name, work email, company, phone number, team size, topic and the content of your message.
Account information: for customer users, name, email, role, login credentials and profile details.
Billing information: billing contact and payment details. Card payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
Communications: emails, support requests and feedback you send us.

Cookies and similar technologies: essential cookies needed to run the site, and, only with your consent, functional cookies (such as third-party live chat) and analytics cookies. See "Cookies and your choices" below.
Device and usage data: browser type, IP address, pages viewed, referring URLs and approximate location derived from IP.

Platform data processed for our customers

When security companies use Scorpion IQ, we process data on their behalf, including guard profiles, schedules, licenses and certifications, time and attendance records, incident reports, photos, client and site information, and guard GPS/location data collected during on-duty time (for clock-ins, patrol verification, geofencing, dispatch and duress alerts). For this platform data, our customer (the security company) controls the data, and we act as its service provider/processor under our agreement with them.

How we use information

To provide, operate, secure and improve the website and platform.
To respond to demo requests, inquiries and chat messages.
To deliver platform features such as scheduling, dispatch, patrol tracking, safety alerts, payroll and invoicing.
To send service-related messages and, where permitted, marketing communications (you can opt out at any time).
To process payments and prevent fraud.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not use guard location data for advertising.

Service providers that help us run our business, such as hosting, email delivery, payment processing, customer support and (with consent) live chat, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
Our customers: platform data is available to the security company that controls it, and to its authorized users and clients as configured by that company.
Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Scorpion IQ, our users or the public.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If we ever introduce analytics or advertising technologies that could be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under state law, they will only run with your consent. You can opt out at any time through Cookie preferences in the website footer, and we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: when your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out of sale/sharing and keep non-essential cookies off.

Cookies and your choices

Essential cookies are always on because the site cannot work without them, for example to remember your cookie choice. Functional and analytics cookies are off unless you allow them. You can change your choice anytime using Cookie preferences in the footer. Third-party live chat loads only if you allow functional cookies.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Demo, contact and chat submissions are generally kept for up to 24 months after our last interaction. Platform data is retained according to our customer agreements and is deleted or returned after a subscription ends, subject to legal retention requirements and routine backup cycles.

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, audit logging, regular backups and least-privilege access for our staff. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
